How Long Does Ghee Last and How to Store It?

Ghee is known for its long shelf life due to its low moisture content and lack of milk solids. This makes it a pantry staple that can last a long time if stored properly.

To store Zaikadelic Ghee:

  • Original Zaikadelic Ghee: Store in a cool, dark place like your pantry for up to six months. For longer-term storage, moving it to the refrigerator helps retain its freshness.
  • Flavored Ghee, such as Zaikadelic Jalapeño Ghee or Zaikadelic Lavender Ghee: Store in the pantry for up to three months, then transfer to the refrigerator to preserve their delicate flavors

Additional Tips

  • To prevent spoilage, always use a clean, dry spoon when scooping ghee and keep it away from moisture
  • Avoid storing ghee near heat sources or in direct sunlight, as excessive heat can alter its texture and taste.

If you're like us, once you start using our ghee, you'll want to use it everywhere —making the shelf life a moot point!
